Latitude 41, 50 N. Third St., Columbus.
Phone: 614-233-7541
Newly opened on Sept.
21, 2006, Latitude 41 quickly earned a reputation in Columbus
cuisine.
“We’re going for an experience, we’re going for the quality of the
food,” said Executive Chef Tony Miller. “We have an emphasis on
quality of fish, quality of meats, natural beef program … we’re the
only one in town.”
Latitude 41 serves 100 percent all-natural Ohio beef, local produce
and all-natural ingredients. In fact, Miller said the only thing
kept in the restaurant’s freezer is ice cream. “It’s really about
freshness. It’s really about perfection for us.”
Aside from beef, Miller uses fresh seafood caught, transported and
served in the same day — the soft shell crabs come directly from
Maryland, scallops are flown from New England, and some of the fish
- Hawaiian kajiki and Hawaiian moonfish - come straight from
Hawaiian waters.
Leslie Hatem, manager of Latitude 41, said the menu changes daily to
account for fresh food.
One of the interesting twists to the menu includes what is offered
to children - the kids menu offers no fried foods. Instead, children
are given options like a petite filet served with smashed potatoes.
“A lot of love went into this restaurant,” Miller said. “It’s my
true passion. I think I’m blessed every day to come in and pursue my
passion.”
