It's Taco +
Beer Time
By Miss Bella
Spring has sprung (well ... sort of). And though the warm weather
hasn't returned, taco + beer is back!
Known for its free tacos, free beer, and attracting the stylish
young professional set, March 29's inaugural event turned out a
crowd of more than 300 at Bar 41.
Latitude 41's Chef Tony Miller went through more than 1,000 tacos,
and the Elevator beer kegs were emptied well before closing time.
"We were all getting hounded like crazy about when taco + beer was
coming back," said event co-founder Robert Bickis Jr., "but we never
expected such a huge turnout!"
Robert went on to explain the plan for 2007: "In true guerilla
style, the venue will be moving around ... even venturing out of the
Gay and Third Street district it was born in to expose some spaces
that are Downtown's best-kept secrets."
Taco + beer is held every last Thursday of the month. April's event
will be on Spice Bar's patio, and in May it returns to the
Renaissance Hotel, this time on the rooftop pool area. Stay tuned to
