The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel and Latitude 41 Restaurant
Inspired by the seasons, Matt combines the freshest local ingredients available
to create seemingly simple dishes that are actually a complex layering of perfectly
balanced flavors.
Matt sees each time in the kitchen as a valuable learning opportunity, whether
it’s cooking at home with his family or working with renowned chefs in
the Marriott organization. Matt has won several awards from Marriott International,
including the Award of Culinary Excellence (ACE) in 2006. He has also completed
the Certified Wedding Planner Program in 2006 and Culinary Operations Facilitator
Training in 2007.
Matt earned his AAS in Culinary Arts in 1996 from Johnson and Wales University,
Norfolk, Virginia. He currently lives in Blacklick, Ohio, with his wife and two
children.
